HAWAIʻI CLIMATE WEEK
YOUTH SUMMIT & PAU HANA
Description
As part of the 2023 Hawaiʻi Climate Week, we organized the Youth Summit & Pau Hana in collaboration with college students, the Blue Planet Foundation, Ulupono Initative, and Pacific RISA, among many other supporters and helpers.
Gathered together at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Law School Auditorium and Courtyard, students and adult allies from all backgrounds came together to learn and brainstorm leverage points that can accelerate climate action through networks. Youth-led breakout discussions on the leverage points of 1) legislative action, 2) youth litigation and social justice, 3) circular economy, and 4) local civic engagement were the first step to taking action to solve the climate crisis. We are now moving forward as a youth climate ʻohana.
For anyone who is interested in the in-depth conversations from the Youth Summit & Pau Hana, please feel free to take a look at the summit notes below.
